Everyone is welcome to take part in The Show of Hope. Before partipating though, please read carefully the following Terms and Conditions.

The document referred to below constitutes a legally binding agreement between you ("entrant") and The Show of Hope ("The Show of Hope", "SoH", "we" or "us”) who operate the website with the domain name, www.showofhope.com (the “Site”).

1. Copyright

1.1 All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.

1.2 Under no circumstances are we responsible if the entrant's image was not taken by then or is not their property.

1.3 Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to The Show of Hope to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their website and/or in any promotional material connected to The Show of Hope.

1.4 The entrant retains the right to remove their image from The Show of Hope at any time. Please contact us if you wish to do so.

2. The submission process

2.1 Only one entry per person, and once submitted the entrant cannot submit another image. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

2.2 Image must be submitted in square format. If they are not, we may contact entrant to ask them to crop the image. If they do not reply within 24 hours we may crop the image ourselves.

2.3 We are happy to accept edited or re-touched images.

2.4 Image must be no larger than 20MB.

2.5 The height/width of submitted images must be at least 1,200 pixels at 72 pixels per inch. Our recommended image length/width minimum is 3,024 pixels at 72 pixels per inch.

2.6 The file format for images must be a JPEG.

3. Display of images

3.1 100 images will be chosen to be displayed in our online and physical shows. The online show will be open from 5 November-17 December 2017. The physical will be from 14-17 December 2017.

3.2 The 100 chosen images will be the ones that are judged to be most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory.

3.3 If the entrant's image makes the final 100, then we may contact them to ask them to provide us with a larger file size for print purposes. This image will need to be a minimum of 3,024 pixels in height/width at 72 pixels per inch, or printable at 10 x 10 in at 300 dots per inch. If they do not have a large enough file, then your original image will not be submitted for The Show of Hope.

3.4 Entrants do not own any of the physical, printed photographs that will appear in the show.

3.5 We reserve the absolute right to choose which images are published and entered into The Show of Hope. Any images containing content that we deem offensive to the public will not be published.

5. What we do with images

By submitting their image to us via this Site, entrants give us the rights to:

5.1 use their image whichever way we choose to ensure the project is as successful as possible. This includes printing their image up to 20 times, mounting it in a frame, and displaying it on a wall in a public space between 14-17 December 2017.

5.2 list their image for sale online and in our physical show.

5.3 use whichever sales strategies we consider most effective to raise as much money as possible from their image.

5.4 attribute their name to the image.

5.5 donate any proceeds from the possible sale/s of their image to our chosen charity.

6. Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy and will never give your details out to any third party without your expressly asking us to do so. We will store your data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
