Garden Family

by Amber Hogan

Contrasting shadows and sunlight in this photograph reminds me of the feeling of looking out of the window and hoping for a bright day. The position of the sun and the shadow from the house shows the family of chairs moving to save the hours of sunlight- that makes me feel hopeful; its an example of taking every bit of a good thing you’ve got, even (especially) something as taken for granted as sunlight. Its clear the day is coming to a close from the shadow slowly reaching the pink chair, but it doesnt feel like the end of anything, but instead it just makes me think about hoping for another sunny day like the last one.
